Central Library – The Academic Hub of PSIT
The Central Library serves as the cornerstone of academic life at PSIT, offering excellent services aligned with the institute’s objectives, vision, and mission. Its primary goal is to support the educational and research programs of the institute by providing both physical and intellectual access to information, in line with current and emerging academic needs.
Located on the 3rd Floor of H-Block, the library is centrally air-conditioned, ensuring a comfortable, reader-friendly, and conducive environment for study and research. It houses a vast collection of over 99,000 text and reference books, along with a significant number of national and international journals. Additionally, the library provides access to a rich repository of e-books, e-journals, and corporate and industry-related resources to support the academic community.
The Digital Library is designed to support and enhance the academic and research needs of users through state-of-the-art audio-visual facilities. It offers access to a wide range of digital resources, including the National Digital Library of India (NDLI), DELNET, and Springer Nature, along with plagiarism detection support via Turnitin.
The library also features an Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) for efficient resource discovery. Users can search the collection using parameters such as author, title, and subject, and check the real-time availability of materials. Additional facilities include access to previous years’ question papers, modern computer systems, and BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) nodes, creating a dynamic and technology-enabled learning environment.
An automated circulation system ensures quick and efficient Circulation (issue and return) of books. A biometric attendance system is also in place to record student entry and exit, enhancing both tracking and security.
Library operations are managed through the college ERP system, ensuring streamlined and efficient functioning of all services.
The library spans an area of approximately 12,525 sq. ft. and can accommodate more than 350 users at a time. It is under 24/7 surveillance with 11 CCTV cameras and is equipped with comprehensive fire safety measures. The facility is also disabled-friendly, with lift access provided for ease of mobility.
